_The first finished sequence of WORMS is ready for the big screen

The pos-production team of Animaking delivered the first finished sequence of the movie. The sequence involves the main characters in very complex scenes with dialogues and a lot of action which is a result of the hard work by many animators and producers. The supervisor of special effects, Eduardo Amodio was in charge of this material and is also coordinating the process of “finishing” the scenes.

Working in finalization and compositing for about 15 years, Eduardo has a lot of experience in commercial works and short films produced for two major companies - S Films and Trattoria di Frame, where he met Paolo Conti and Arthur Nunes. His résumé includes the finishing of animation in Stop Motion, 2D, 3D, and live action. He also finalized musical clips and videos for the shows of the singer Marisa Monte. At the end of 2006 he accepted the invitation from Animaking to work on "Worms" and moved to Florianópolis.

The pos-production in a Stop Motion animation focuses on image composing, where characters and scenarios can be assembled together when shot separately. At the same time the process of rotoscoping is performed, which means, that all of the mechanisms which sustain the puppets, as well as the little mistakes are erased by the power of editing software. Eduardo thinks that this kind of treatment is able to give to the audience the feeling of reality to each photo-frame of the movie.

The work of a special effects supervisor begins in the planning together with production and director. The finalizing process happens at the same time as they are shooting other scenes. “Working side by side helps to improve the scenes planning, as the shooting goes on we end up finding out new ways to get it even better”, emphasizes Eduardo. He also told us that working for the production of "Worms" has been a rich experience and he hopes to be very proud of his work at the end of this movie.
